I like to watch the sky at sunrise and set from the roof of my building in a hammock. I set up simply, and so can you. Our documentation mainly covers first-time assembly, like IKEA furniture. It’s something you do once. After you have the stand adjusted to your preferences, you can just fold, partially collapse, and stow the stand for quick redeployment as shown.

Walk up
Fully assembled, Tensa4 folds and collapses to a 39" (1M) long bundle of four poles, lines wrapping or dangling. Weighs about 11lbs without ground anchors or other bits not strictly necessary. It lives this way in my car and closet.

Extending
Click click click! Four poles, each seven segments, means 28 clicks between compact and fully extended states.

Keep going
If your poles don't slide easily, consider cleaning them inside and out, applying a light dry waxy finish such as spray-type furniture polish to the insides: smooth!

Move into position
I've clipped the foot end that I'm holding to the railing. Don't use ground anchors when unnecessary.

String her up
The ridgeline on the stand is unnecessary when the hammock has one. I chose to use the stand ridgeline to make this sequence easier to follow, standing up before attaching hammock, but I will disconnect it soon to let the hammock's ridgeline do the work.

Test lay
Note carefully the tilt of the stand, and the lesser tilt of the hammock. I have attached the head end of the hammock directly to the toggle that connects the poles, bypassing any suspension. There is some suspension on the higher foot end, letting that end of the hammock down some. Importantly, this puts the low point of the hammock where I'm sitting far away from the baseline, extremely stable. If you think Tensa4 moves too much to feel stable, try this, embracing lots of stand tilt. Do not try to center the hammock in the stand. If you must have the hammock level or nearly, do so by letting out the foot side suspension, not by making the stand level.

Flat in the hammock
A titled hammock (head end lower) actually supports a flatter lay than a flat hammock, because physics: body weight isn't distributed evenly over height.

Chair mode
I titled the stand even further, and am "backwards" in the hammock, head toward foot end. Every gathered end hammock is a hammock chair with enough tilt.

More chair
To lay flat in a hammock, you want to lay on the diagonal. For semi-upright, recliner-like support, position yourself on the centerline, feet either astraddle or in hammock as in previous frame.

Packing up
Just fold and go. Hammock can stay attached if you like. I left it off for setup just for clarity.
Above shows the sequence starting and ending with the stand as a bundle of 4 poles, folded. The minimum length is 1M/39″, narrow but too long to fit into the 20″ carry bag. You can also break the poles at their midsections, again keeping the connections intact, to fit the stand back into the bag. The setup procedure then resembles this:
